  2. I’m working with a group called the Parma Area Dog Park Association. We were recently given the go-ahead from our Mayor to start fundraising for a dog park in our city! Can we contact you with information about our first fundraiser in June?

  3. Thank you so much for including the Parma Area Dog Park Association in your article. We can use all the publicity we can get for our “Bark For Your Park” contest. If you’d like me to send you copies of our flyer for the Bark contest or our fundraiser at Flyers Bar and Grill, please let me know. You are such a great resource for dog lovers in the Cleveland area.

    1. Thanks Jen! I’m currently looking for dog park reviews, so I can link to more info on the dog park page. If you’re interested in providing a review and want to send me some details on the park – any special features, whether or not water is provided, the crowd (bigger dogs or smaller dogs?), is there a small dog area and any other interesting info, you can email me at contact@dogsinthecle.com. Pictures would be great too!

  5. Please know that the original idea for a dog food truck is not K-9 Cafe’s idea!!!! Fido to go is the 1st Dog Food Truck in the Nation! It started in Chicago early in the year of 2011. Please see http://www.fidotogo.net Fido to go, Inc. would appreciate if K-9 Cafe would stop stealing written material such as wording from media articles as well as Fido to go, Inc. website. Also, it will cost them much more than the truck. Each product needs to be tested and approved by the State of Ohio in order to sell any products for animals which costs thousands of dollars. It takes much more money than baking and jumping on a truck and selling.

    1. Hi Donna, if you have something to discuss with K9 Food Truck I suggest you contact them directly. Nothing was said about canine food trucks being their idea. The article is about how this would be the first in Cleveland, and about how they got started.

  6. Love the website! We were in town for the weekend and traveling with one our dogs, needed dog friendly places to go. The site was a godsend!
We went to Merwins Wharf and Edisons after on Friday, Luxe for dinner on Saturday and Nighttown for brunch on Sunday. Every place was beyond dog friendly. My favorite was Nighttown. With a separate patio for people with dogs and serving the dogs slices of bacon and scrambled eggs from a fork and bowls of water before even taking our orders……that is dog friendly! Highly recommended!

Thanks so much for your efforts in keeping this guide up to date, I’ll be sure to share the blog with our dog-owning friends!

  8. Although you can’t bring your dogs to the event (it’s in a movie theater)…

Could you invite your readers to the Ohio Voters For Companion Animals “Dog By Dog” event?

It’s a red carpet movie premier, the last of three showings in Ohio. As a NE Ohio dog lover, we would love to have you attend to help end puppy mills in Ohio.

Below is some background on the event:

Join former Champion MMA Fighter Gordon Shell vs. Mike Vick: FIGHT for the DOGS, DBD Director Christopher E. Grimes 5414 Productions, Mindi Callison from Bailing Out Benji and Mary O’Conner-Shaver from OVCA (Both Mindi and Mary are featured in DBD) for this special screening! 10. Does anyone know of a similar guide like this for the Akron/Green/north canton area? I will be visiting for a month during the summer and bringing my dog. I’d love to know where I can take him. I’m particularly interested in restaurants and patios he can go (I’ve looked at bring fido.com and it wasn’t particularly helpful). This blog is great, but I won’t be in the Cleveland area as much as Akron/green. Any suggestions would be great! Email me. Thanks! Joe

    1. I will post this and let you know what I find out! I haven’t found too many dog friendly patios in the Akron area when I’ve asked before, but maybe this time I’ll hear of more.

  14. Your site shows Brook Park Doggy Swim for the 20th. Well, many of us showed up yesterday and it was held on Saturday as the sign showed. So, we missed it… After 40 minutes of driving and asking around since the GPS didn’t recognize the pool area.
As I checked your other activities, they ALL have conflicting dates. What are the dates? Please check your program.
It will be on Saturday or Sunday at Westlake? How about for the other Swims?

    1. Sorry about that! No, I have not come across an Airedale meetup group. Lakewood Dog Park has been doing a lot of meetups, so keep an eye on their page or maybe reach out to see if they know of any.

    1. Voodoo Tuna Sushi lounge on Detroit Rd., in Lakewood is dog friendly, also a great dog park in Kirtland called Canine Meadow on Euclid Chardon Rd. It’s huge, clean and a nice pond for the dogs to swim in.
