Mark Your Calendars: Yappy Hours!

It’s one of the best times of year – Yappy Hour Season! Every summer, pet stores and area bars and wineries host a number of dog friendly nights to give you a chance to get out with your dog and raise money for local rescue groups.

Most of the yappy hours listed below donate a portion of the proceeds to local animal groups, so you really have no excuse not to get out and do something fun with your dog!

Here are some Yappy Hour events to mark on your calendars:

Pet-Tique Yappy Hour

Held on the first Thursday of the month, the pet store just west of downtown will host Yappy Hours at their store to benefit the Cleveland Kennel. The first Yappy Hour will be held on June 18 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wine, beer and raffle baskets will be on hand. For more info, visit:

Puppies on the Patio

Every Saturday at Jukebox, the bar’s always dog friendly patio is converted to a dog park for dogs to run around off-leash. The yappy hour is in partnership with Ohio City Dog Haven, so patrons can also receive 20% off their purchase at the pet store (located next door to Jukebox) when they stop by with their dog. A portion of the proceeds every week will go to local rescue groups.
